Outdoor Adventures East Neuk of Fife
East Neuk of Fife
Stand Up Paddle Boarding
If you have never tried it before, then why not give it a go. It’s a probably a lot easier than learning to surf! You can organize a lesson and hire the paddle board or alternatively, bring your own and take a nice calm paddle in the tidal pool at East Neuk (once used as a swimming pool in Victorian times). You may want to bring/hire a wetsuit just in case you lose your balance.
Kayaking & Canoeing
You can bring your own kayak or canoe or organize a guided tour or a lesson where the equipment will be provided. You can even go sea kayaking for a half day or full day along the coast and take in the wonders of Mother Nature. East Neuk Outdoors provide all equipment needed (see their website for details).
Archery
Ever wished that you could shoot an arrow like Katniss or Hawkeye? Well now you have the chance to see if you can hit that bullseye. Treat yourself to a lesson at the purpose-built outdoor archery range with an instructor present at all times.
Axe Throwing
Maybe not the first thing you would have thought of doing on a holiday by the sea! However, it would certainly be something to write home about! Channel your inner Viking and book a lesson.
Fife Coastal Path
If you are looking for something a little more relaxed, then walk some of the Fife Coastal path and just enjoy nature. This footpath runs from Kincardine to Newburgh and is 187km long with an approximate 1865 metres gain in elevation. The path runs through East Neuk taking in Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Crail all the way to St. Andrews and more!
Kellie Castle & Castle
If you like a bit of history then this castle and garden is well worth a visit located near Pittenweem. A family of architects and artists saved the castle from ruin in the late 19th century and the library of the castle boasts one of the oldest ornamental plaster ceilings in Scotland. You can then take a wander through the garden and enjoy the scent of the roses.
