Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, is the oldest part of the capital's Old Town. Established in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, this area of the city has some of the most well-preserved aspects of the city all in one place. Records dating back to 1477 show this area being used for textile markets, but nowadays the street is aimed largely at tourists. Situated on The Royal Mile, Lawnmarket is part of Edinburgh's rich history and a fantastic base for exploring this great city.

This luxury apartment offers fantastic views from every window, overseeing the historical area. Right in the centre of the action, this contemporary property has been refurbished to a high quality and offers a comfortable base for exploring the nation's capital city. The spacious living area features large panelled windows that flood the room with natural light and window seats to watch the rush of the street below. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for the chef in you to fuel up for a long day discovering the history of Edinburgh. Wooden flooring throughout the apartment perfectly compliments the traditional feel of the area whilst giving that extra touch of luxury for your stay.

Please note: No Stag/Hen/Party groups will be accepted. This property is on the 2nd floor with no lift access.

Words used to descibe Lawnmarkets as told by our lovely guests:
"Fantastic" "Unbeatable" "Perfect"

Lawnmarket is the oldest part of the Old Town itself, the name derives from Land Market, where goods were sold in the market from the surrounding countryside. One end of the Royal Mile is the Castle itself and Royal Observatory both of which are definitely worth a visit, and to the other end is Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament building all within an easy stroll from the apartment. The best way to get around Edinburgh is by foot. There are plenty of buses which operate frequently throughout the city and you can catch close by on either street crossing the Royal Mile. There are numerous bars, cafes, restaurants and speciality shops all along the Royal Mile - so plenty to do just walking up and down this street. This is also the main area for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, as all acts will congregate here to showcase their shows. Off the Royal Mile, you can walk down the Mound leading down into Princes Street and to the New Town of Edinburgh - this is no more than a 10-15 minute walk, or longer depending on how long you take to walk and look at all the grand buildings around. However, if you want to escape the shopping and activity - 10 minutes in the opposite direction will take you past the National Museum and on to The Meadows which is a great park and worth a visit to get a different view of the City.
Parking: This apartment is the very heart of Edinburgh and the owner has a free parking space available to guests which is a 15 walk away.

"Great Apartment, Amazing Location"

We only had a day and a half in Edinburgh, and this apartment put us right in the middle of the action. The castle is a very short walk, lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. Kids books and Lego gave the little ones something to do while at the apartment. Would definitely stay here again if we are back in the city!

"Decorated nicely"

So conveniently located on the Royal Mile. Out the door and you are right where you want to be! Decorated nicely and recently redone - it all seems new and modern, yet the windows look down on a street that is both ancient and bustling. Sitting in the window seats watching the world below was great - not that we were there to do that too much! So much to see and do on Royal Mile, our visit was too short!
