Relax and recoup in the harbour town of Pittenweem, a welcome retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Breathe in the sea air on the harbour, or take a stroll up one of the many routes on The Fife Coastal Path to take in some additional exercise with the added benefit of breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth.

Renovated throughout in 2017, this one-bedroom penthouse flat offers everything you need for an East Neuk of Fife get-away. As you would expect of a total refurbishment, everything in the penthouse is new – kitchen, lounge, bathroom, bedroom, utility room – and all furniture and equipment. The centrepiece of this bright and airy flat is the open-plan kitchen/diner and lounge which offers views south, out into the Firth of Forth and the North Sea. We recommend the comfy sofa to cast your eye over fishermen laying their creels in the sparkling waters – and we have even seen whales here. Or take a lounge window seat and look west over the boats – and seals – bobbing around in the harbour. You're honestly that close.

This penthouse is an ideal retreat for couples, although the lounge sofa is a comfortable double bed-settee to offer extra sleeping space (which is chargeable). Larger groups could also rent the main two-storey house below, House on the Harbour, with its separate entrance, together the penthouse and main house could comfortably accommodate groups of up to 12. Original artwork by David Henderson features in all rooms. Please note that there is a travel cot available upon request (free of charge), however, guest must supply own bed linen for the travel cot.

Accessibility: You reach the separate entrance to the penthouse by going up the sloping lane around the patio of the main House on the Harbour, and the path at the back of the house. There are approximately 15 (outdoor) stairs to the front door of the Penthouse Free parking is at the harbour.

Pittenweem has the only working harbour in the East Neuk of Fife. Take a short walk along the beach and you may be lucky enough to see dolphins and porpoise – or even a whale. Or enjoy a boat trip to the Isle of May (National Nature Reserve) – or even North Berwick across the water in East Lothian.
Right on the Fife Coastal Path, Pittenweem is a gentle 40-minute walk to Anstruther to the east or St Monans to the west. The annual Pittenweem Arts Festival, held in August, has drawn a community of artists and craftspeople to this historic village, with galleries and open studies. The sleepy high street has welcoming cafes, and there are two village pubs.

For golfers, Fife is the home of golf, with Anstruther course five minutes away, and another 45 courses a short drive – including the famous Old Course at St Andrew's.

"Great Property, Great View, Easy to Travel"

Great little property gives a view of the harbour and tied up fishing boats, 2 minutes walk to the harbour, easy well connected to the general area, so easy to drive to main places of Fife, Tayside, Perthshire and Angus. Place is spotless and in very good condition. Well stocked with equipment. Great base. Also large enough to entertain in happier times post Covid. Quick by car to Anstruther Coop which is well stocked. Only tried the FIsh and Chips in town which were great!

"Brilliant Location"

A brilliant location to get away for a few days and enjoy everything that is happening in Fife.

"Gorgeous Location, Great for Walks"

Lovely location. Great for walks to the other gorgeous seaside villages, nice eateries, good seascape and seabird photography opportunities. View from apartment of the working harbour is really nice, and a bonus of a little sun trap seating area in elevated rear garden was great for sundowners. Would stay again.
