The town of Alyth, just 2 miles away, has a small selection of shops & places to eat. For a bigger range, Blairgowrie is just 8 miles away.

For those interested in archeology, , a Souterrain iron age underground structure was found at Shanzie where excavations unearthed a structure 35 metres long and roughly c-shaped. Whilst the souterrain itself has been sealed, you can see the mound that remains from the road.

For golf enthusiasts, Alyth Golf Course is just a few minutes along the road. Alternatively, nearby Blairgowrie boasts Rosemount and Landsdowne championship courses.
