Manage your breathing. It may seem obvious, but breathing is something we do without even really thinking about it. Sit down for five minutes and really try to notice your breathing. Take a deep breath in for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and breath out for eight seconds. Do this a few times and see if you can notice a change in your mindset.

Get into nature. Try going for a walk or a run without listening to any music. Take in what’s around you and see if you notice anything new today. The natural world is full of beauty, but sometimes we’re just too busy to realise.

Be present. We’re all so connected these days that we spend so much time thinking about the future. What’s happening tomorrow, or next week, or in a month’s time. But why not try slowing down and focussing on right now; the next five minutes. This can help to focus your mind on what’s important in the moment, rather than worrying about what’s to come.

Go easy on yourself. We’re all human. Don’t beat yourself up if you haven’t achieved what you wanted to today, or you didn’t manage to complete a task. Not everything we do is going to be a success, sometimes you just have to give yourself time to recharge and start again.

Rest. We often glorify the hustle. Being busy has become a badge of honour. But what would happen if you gave yourself time to rest? Say no to the things you don’t want to do, allow yourself to slow down. If it doesn’t need to be done right now, cut yourself some slack. Check in with what your body needs, and spend ten minutes, an hour, or a whole morning doing something for yourself.
